ECO-Buy has recently completed the development of an 'Introduction to Green Purchasing' e-learning module. The module was developed as part of a collaborative project to meet ECO-Buy local government member needs for an electronic learning tool on green purchasing for general staff awareness.
The cost of developing the tool was split between the founding councils, making it a cost efficient project, and a great example of collaboration among ECO-Buy Members.
The following local government ECO-Buy members were part of the project:
- Bayside City Council
- Frankston City Council
- Hobson’s Bay City Council
- Melton City Council
- Mitchell Shire Council
- Moonee Valley City Council
- Whitehorse City Council
The e-learning tool takes around 20 minutes for staff to complete, with interactive activities and tests. It can be incorporated into the organisation’s learning management system to log participant completion and test scores or simply hosted on an intranet. The tool is also customised to the organisation by including its purchasing policy commitments and tracking of green purchases.
Other government and non-government organisations can purchase the tool. Please contact Sara Redmond-Neal if you would like to learn more.
